Rested and Recharged

Dear Solelniks,

It’s August and I am officially back from sabbatical! Thank you for giving me this time to rest and recharge! I have missed being with you and look forward to reconnecting and sharing the joys of being together with our Solel community this month and getting ready for the High Holidays – coming up soon!

Stepping away from my usual busy routines and responsibilities has given me new perspectives both professionally and personally, helped to recharge my spiritual batteries, and reconnect to parts of myself that I had been missing.

I am deeply grateful to the board leadership for granting me this time away, and even more grateful to Arliene Botnick and our professional staff, and all of our Solel volunteers who stepped up to provide rabbinic coverage for Shabbatot and holiday services, pastoral needs and lifecycle events, programs and more.

Being able to spend time reading, writing, reflecting, learning, and traveling to spend time with family and friends from different parts of my life was such a precious gift.

I look forward to sharing some of my experiences and reflections with you soon!
