Sisterhood
Solel's Sisterhood will enrich your experience
within the congregation, meeting new women, developing new
friendships and rekindling others. Sisterhood is as diverse
as the women who belong to Solel. Our interests, ages and
lifestyles vary, but we share a common commitment to providing
educational and entertaining programming, and to social
causes in the wider Mississauga community. We plan our programmes
and activities to reflect the diverse interests, concerns
and wishes of the women of Solel. We hope you can join us
at our upcoming events.

Chaverim (Grade 7 &
8 Youth Group)
Chaverim is the Hebrew word for friends.
It is also the youth group program for Grade 7 and 8 students
in Solel. The goals of Chaverim are to provide a Jewish
context for our students an opportunity to connect with
each other outside of school, introduce the students to
youth group activities in anticipation of joining MITY in
Grade 9 and provide an opportunity to meet other Grade 7
and 8 students in other congregations.
Chaverim programs include fun activities
such as skating, bowling, swimming, movies and picnics,
more serious activities such as helping out at the food
bank and the highlight of the year, the annual Shabbaton
with youth groups from Rochester and Buffalo.
Chaverim is run by Brad Bass and a
dedicated set of parents. We welcome both new members as
well as new parents. Please contact Brad Bass at 905-858-1785
or at Beit Sefer Solel.

Solel Playgroup
Solel's Moms and Tots Playgroup began almost
5 years ago to bring together new mothers and moms with
preschool children one morning a week at the synagogue.

With a roomful of toys, fresh coffee and
a snack for the kids, we spend the time schmoozing and watching
the kids interact, while touching on Jewish themes with
music and activities. It's a fun destination for everyone:
moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas and kids! Lots of kids! Come
and check out our outdoor play area as well!

Tikun Olam
Mending of the world seems to be an impossible
task since it is such an enormous mission
and yet,
step-by-step, voice-by-voice, and effort-by-effort, as a
community, we can make a difference.
Solel's Tikkun Olam committee is continuously striving
to raise our congregation's awareness of social action issues
that are taking place in our community, country, and world.
We are involved with action campaigns to fight poverty and
violence, at home and globally.
